Kovert began in 1994 with a weekly show on London pirate Chillin’ FM. Influenced by the harder Detroit sounds (UR, Hardwax, Cybersonik), the early Chicago house sound (Farley Jackmaster Funk, Sleazy D, Adonis etc.), dark European hardcore (PCP, Praxis), the UK rave/ early jungle scene and the broken electronics of the Italians (SNS, Leo Anibaldi, ASU), it was only a matter of time before some ideas were recorded. In 2000, a track was featured on the Praxis USA compilation, with Alexis then releasing his first 12″ EP on Praxis also. Releases have since followed for Berlin’s Koolpop, Sub/Version and the Peace Off sub-label Damage. Recently Kovert can be found smashing up the dance in the London party scene and we highly suggest that you seek him out.
